23.03.15: Remembering Lee Kuan Yew.

Perhaps people will argue that not everything he did was right.

But he did what he could best, for the people of the nation he loves most. An entire lifetime dedicated to trying to better the lives of all the people who call Singapore home. This is a man with visions so great that many people didn't believe in him, until he made them all come true.

Grandpa teared a little when he found out about his passing, and that took be aback for he's a quiet man who rarely shows sadness. It was then I remembered to the pioneering generation, Mr Lee is the one who changed their lives right in front of their eyes. He took a kampong, small, resource scarce third-world us into a clean, almost self-sustaining, first-class metropolitan city.

I look around at the roof over my head and the fact that I have education, transport, clean water. Things that people may not see as much, or even say it's lame to point it out but I see the need to be thankful and grateful to the man who started it all, way before I was even in existence. Thanks to him, I have all of that now.

Today we lost a man whom help pave the way to everything we call Home.
I've never been super patriotic all my life, but Thank you Mr Lee, for all that I have now and for all that we will keep building.

We will remember you, always.
And may you rest in peace.
